Place de Paris 

In a record time of four months, the Place de Paris at the station district in Luxembourg was redesigned with the Rapid system from the premium brand for garden, landscape and road construction tubag.

The planned eight-month construction period was halved by the City of Luxembourg to four months so that the 4,500m² square could be reopened on time for National Day. To ensure that the time could be kept, the Rapid system from tubag's road construction programme was used. The perfectly coordinated system consisted of TPM-D 4MM Rapid paving mortar, TNH Rapid trass slurry and PFH Rapid paving grout. The trass paving mortar used, TPM-D 4MM Rapid, was specially developed for road construction and is very well suited for areas with high traffic loads. In addition, its accelerated setting behaviour enabled an earlier release for traffic.

In total, tubag supplied 500 tonnes of bedding mortar, 50 tonnes of grout and 18 tonnes of bonding slurry. Sievert had explicitly recommended the Rapid system from the tubag brand so that the Costantini and Sopinor craftsmen could cover as much area as possible in the shortest possible time.

"It was really tough: on average, the teams from Sopinor and Costantini worked with 40 people six days a week, always from half past six to half past six. Everyone always had material from us, there was never a standstill. I am really happy that this worked out so well," said Armin Thonet, Managing Director Benelux at Sievert. A special hurdle here was the refilling of the silos with the bedding mortar: "We had to fill the silos from our trucks while the traffic was running, which was really not easy on this road. But here, too, the full Sievert competence was demonstrated. The cooperation between us and the Sievert Logistics team was really excellent," says Thonet. He adds that this project also showed: "The personal contact between the site manager and our project manager is the key to success. Sopinor and Costantini had a contact person who takes care of the material handling. One phone call is enough and everything is taken care of. That's exactly what matters, and it worked really well," says Thonet, pleased with the successful project, which is also exemplary for tubag's success story.
