Feldhaus Klinker, the internationally operating clinker brick and brick slip factory from Germany, and Sievert, a leading European supplier of premium building materials, have entered into a warranty partnership with the aim of guaranteeing façade safety.

The guarantee applies to brick slip bonding on monolithic masonry as well as on concrete and precast concrete elements. It covers a total of 12 clinker brick slip product lines from Feldhaus Klinker and 15 system products from Sievert's akurit and quick-mix product brands.

"Usually, manufacturers are only liable for their own products. In this case, however, we are jointly responsible for the complete structure - also thanks to coordinated materials. This offers real added value for our customers," says Ingo Lehnardt, Head of Construction and Application Consultancy at Sievert Baustoffe.

"The basis for this warranty partnership is the long-standing partnership between Feldhaus and Sievert. Together, we have already successfully completed many projects in recent years," adds Jörg Breier, Managing Director at Feldhaus Klinker.

Commitment of both partners

With the warranty partnership, the two companies undertake to be liable for defects in the façade construction for a total of ten years, provided that the Feldhaus clinker brick slips have been professionally installed using Sievert system products. This warranty covers the protection of the façade against leaching and efflorescence as well as the frost and weather resistance of the materials supplied by the warranty partners as a complete system. Leaching and efflorescence in particular can quickly make clinker brick façades look unsightly. With SECON®, Sievert has developed and patented a binding agent technology that reliably prevents leaching and efflorescence from the joint mortar. The technology is used in the S-FM joint grout from Sievert's quick-mix brand and the FM-R brick slip joint grout from the akurit brand.
